Morocco ANRT's new Type Approval Guideline

Morocco ANRT has released Decision ANRT/DG/N°12/2, outlining the technical specifications for the type approval of radio equipment. This decision replaces Decision ANRT/DG/No. 04/14 dated February 17, 2014 to address new wireless technologies and connectivity standards.


The new type approval guideline adding instructions for 5G, Wi-Fi 6 and 6E, GPON (Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network), GNSS and ESIM (Earth Station in Motion).

Cellular products must support 4G now. The 5G network is not yet available until network operators obtain spectrum license in 3.4-3.8 GHz frequency. The consumer products supporting 5G must be standalone compatible.


Now with the 5.47-5.725 GHz band is licensed for P2P applications (Private Line), Wi-Fi 5 and 6E allowed the use of 5.15-5.35 GHz.


New regulations also have been introduced concerning electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), low-voltage electrical safety (LVD), and RF exposure (Health).
